First settled over two thousand years ago and located on the edge of a 180 metre high ravine, Ronda in southern Spain has one of the richest histories and most dramatic settings of any town in Spain.
Fortunately Ronda is also easily accessible by public transport from most major cities in Andalusia, making it the perfect choice for day trips or overnight excursions. Ronda can be reached by either bus or train from Malaga and by bus from other towns on the Costa del Sol. Information below explains how to reach Ronda from Granada, Cordoba or Seville.
There are no direct buses from Granada to Ronda. The most convenient way to get to Ronda is by train. Three direct services to Ronda leave Granada train station (Avenida Andaluces, tel. 958 271 272) daily at 7.15, 13.55 and 17.00. Journey time to Ronda is approximately 2h 40m. Approximate price is 12.25 euros one way. Trains leave Ronda for the return trip to Granada daily at 8.57, 14.11 and 17.35.
There are no direct buses from Cordoba to Ronda. Trains leave Cordoba train station (Plaza de las Tres Culturas, off the Avenida de America, tel. 902 240 202) for Ronda at 10.43 and 17.06 daily. Travel time to Ronda is approximately 1h 45m. Tickets cost approximately 29.4 euros one way.
Monday to Friday it is possible to catch a 7.40 train to Antequera, arriving at 8.16, and connect with the Granada to Ronda train which stops in Antequera at 8.40.
Trains return to Cordoba from Ronda at 10.00 and 16.46 daily.
The easiest way to visit Ronda from Seville is by bus. Buses run by Los Amaraillos (tel. 954 989 184) leave from Prado de San Sebastián Bus Station. Approximate journey time to Ronda is 2.5h. One way tickets cost approximately 11 euros.
