Where to look for bargain deals on low cost carriers to the Aragonese capital from Milan, London, Frankfurt and Paris.
Zaragoza is the fifth largest city in Spain, and the capital of the Aragon province, and it is currently undergoing a bit of a tourism renaissance. It has been an important trading post and transportation crossroads for some time, but now visitors are beginning to discover its charms.
One of the city’s main attractions is its wealth of well-preserved Roman remains. The city’s name is a corruption of Caesar Augusta, and the theatre bearing that name has survived the test of time remarkably well. Other Roman fragments are dotted across the city, and have museums dedicated to them.
Other highlights include the city’s fabulous basilica, which is built on the spot where St James supposedly had a vision of the Virgin Mary.
But it’s all very well knowing what you can see there. What is the best way to get there, though? Many airlines, some offering great deals and bargains, fly into Zaragoza from cities all across Europe. These include:
Air Nostrum L.A. Mediterraneo offers flights to Zaragoza, Spain from Frankfurt, Germany, and Paris (Charles De Gaulle) in France.
Low cost carrier Ryanair offers cheap flights to Zaragoza, Spain from Milan (Orio al Selio) in Italy. The Irish budget airline also operates a direct route from London (Stansted) in England.
Not all of these fly every day, but they do have a regular service. It is always worth shopping around to see what sort of deal you can get, as the prices can vary dramatically depending on when you book, what time of day you plan to travel and what airport you wish to fly from. You should always make sure you are aware of the full price – including taxes and fees before confirming a booking. Also bear in mind that budget airlines do not provide a full service, such as free in-flight meals, and that you may prefer to pay a little bit extra to get such add-ons.
