As someone who travels alone and seeks solitude what island would you suggest I visit in the Canary Islands? Lanzaroate sounds wonderful, but busy.

Lanzarote has more than Fuerteventura, but it's still a really laid-back place. You can find solitude very easily, and I think it's a good place for solo travelers. Although it's a favorite for families, most of the lodgings are at resorts where you have the option of preparing your own meals and eating on your own balcony or terrace.

People are really friendly, and a lot of Brits go there, so English is widely spoken. I think I'd choose Lanzarote because it combines the unhurried pace and wide-open spaces with some really smashing art sights and natural wonders.

Have you guessed that I love this island and go back whwenever I have the chance?
